DIVE Privacy Policy

DIVE keeps your library on your device. E-books, PDFs, notes, highlights and selected photos remain there by default. You do not need to create a DIVE login; online services use the pseudonymous identifiers described below.

AI features (book chat, Author · Beta, the DIVE assistant, Guides and AI cover generation) work only after you give permission in the app. You can withdraw it at any time in Profile › AI & Memory.

For chat and Guides, DIVE Relay may receive your question, recent conversation messages, the book’s title and author, the reply language and short passages selected on your device. The DIVE assistant uses a brief library digest such as titles, authors and reading progress; Guides use excerpts from different parts of the book. The book file itself is not uploaded.

Cover generation sends an art brief derived from information such as the book’s subject, category, relevant tags, chosen style and colors; it does not send your book file or personal photo. DIVE Relay runs on Cloudflare and uses OpenAI models through Wiro (wiro.ai) to generate replies or images. These providers also have their own processing and retention terms. Anyone who has a Wiro-generated image output URL can access that URL. DIVE does not sell your data, use it for advertising or train AI models with it.

The Relay keeps hashes derived from device and IP information and Apple transaction identifiers, service identifiers, your Ink balance and history, request status and time, feature, token counts and cost. Plain-text questions, passages and cover briefs are not added to usage logs. These records are linked to your device or purchases; using DIVE without a login does not make them anonymous.

Completed chat and Guide replies are kept encrypted to recover interrupted results. Their recovery window expires after 24 hours, and stored replies are removed by cleanup. DIVE’s cloud copies of generated covers are linked to your service identity, served with authenticated access and held in the current Cloudflare cache with a 30-day expiry. Copies saved on your device may remain until you delete them. Balance and transaction records are separate from these temporary content copies and are kept for membership verification, billing and abuse prevention.

Voice notes require your microphone and speech-recognition permissions. Apple Speech processes audio on the device where the device and language support it; otherwise audio may be sent to Apple’s speech-recognition service. DIVE Relay does not receive or store your audio. The resulting note is saved on your device; if you include it in an AI request, the relevant text is sent as described above.

DIVE never receives payment card details. Apple processes purchases; the Relay processes the signed Apple transaction needed to verify your membership or Ink and keeps records derived from relevant transaction identifiers.

You can delete books and notes on your device in DIVE. Use the support page to request access to or deletion of cloud cover copies and balance or usage records linked to your purchases. Include the purchase date and product ID so we can locate the records; do not send the full transaction document, payment details or your book file. Data processed by AI and speech-recognition providers is also subject to their own privacy and retention terms.
